Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the clearance of a clutch easily and securely by fixing the end plate of the clutch and by measuring the movement extent of its outer part by measuring it to a lower limit with downward pushing pressure and then to an upper limit with upward pushing pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Clutch 1 is mounted on chuck 9 and lever 15 is rotated so that while collet pin 9a operates downward by spring 9b via cam 17, instrument 13 can operate downward by spring 13a via cam 18. Then, clamper 10 pushes clutch outer part 2 down to the lower limit through a pressurized fluid. At this time, instrumemt 3 is located at position 0. Then, clamper 10 is released and lever 19 is turned to operate push-up pin 11 downward against spring 11a via cam 21 and outer part 2 is moved to the upper limit to read the clearance by instrument 13. Consequently, the measurement can be taken easily and securely.
