Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an action of catching of a device when an engine is at low speed, by providing a protruding part with a step difference in a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 1 is constructed by a magnetic material with radially extended protruding parts 1a at its top and bottom end corresponding to an advance angle width theta. At the rear end of the protruding part 1a, a step difference 1b is provided. A fixed pulser 2 is constituted by a magnet 3, cores 4a, 4b, located at the top and bottom of the magnet and placed in a face-to-face relation with the protruding parts 1a, and a pulser coil 5. When the rotor 1 is rotated, a positive (or negative) output is generated in the pulser coil 5 because a magnetic flux is increased at the front end of the protruding part 1a. Then the magnetic flux is decreased at a place of the step difference 1b to generate a low level output with a different polarity from that at the front end and further decreased at the rear end, causing a genertion of output at high level with the same polarity as that at the place of the step difference 1b.
