Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the temp. deviation based on the overlapping density of a wire material coil and uniformly cool the wire material by selectively cooling the parts where the overlapping density of the thick layered coil after the hot rolling which is being transferred from a take-up machine then passing the coil through the inside of an enclosed environment. CONSTITUTION:A wire material which is taken up in the form of coil by a laying head 1 of a take-up machine after hot rolling is charged onto the transfer conveyor 2 in a protection cover 3. In this case, at the time when the wire material coil does not form a thick layered coil 4 or at the time when the coil is falling from the head 1, that is, in the position of the air cooling zone 5 provided between the head and the cover 3 inlet, refrigerant of the temp. lower than the of the coil is sprayed from nozzles 6. Hence, at the time of cooling the wire material in the cover 3, the temp. deviations by the differences in the overlap density at the coil 4 section may be kept small and the wire material may be uniformly cooled.
