Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the AC electric vehicle having a high regenerative power by a method wherein the loss of armature series resistance is reduced by controlling the value of armature series resistance in proportion to the vehicle speed.
CONSTITUTION: Rheostatic controllers (choppers) 16 and 17 are connected to the armature series resistors 8 and 9 connected in series to the armatures 6 and 7 on the AC electric vehicle driving motor. The controlling circuit 19 of a rheostatic controller outputs the current continuity rate (resistance short-circuit time/controlling period) γ of the chopper in proportion to the speed V to be inputted to a speed signal 18 to the rheostatic controllers 16 and 17. In other words, in proportion to the decrease of the induced voltage, which is reduced according to the vehicle speed, the current-passing coefficient is increased and the resistance value is reduced, thereby enabling to increase the regenerative power.
