Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of detection, and perform the detection operation stable for a long period of time by the simple constitution of detecting blood leakage based on a deflection method while adjusting the output from a light emitting element to zero at every fixed period. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light emitting element 12 is projected to a detecting cell 11, and transmits through said detecting cell 11. The change in the quantity of the light during the transmission is received in a photodetector 13, and the output signal (a) thereof is applied to an automatic zero adjusting circuit 16. In the circuit 16, a differential amplifier 17 compares the output signal (a) and a reference signal (b), and the output signal (c) thereof is converted to a concentration signal by a span adjusting circuit 19. This concentration signal is indicated by an indicating instrument 18. After the concentration signal is converged to 0, the deviation of the concentration signal from 0 is discriminated by a concentration discriminating circuit 28, by which the blood leakage is discriminated. The blood leakage is displayed in a display circuit 30 or an alarm circuit 32.
