Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Light emitting element 1'a is fixed onto slit 2'a of slit plate 2', and light emitting element 1'a is rotated together with slit plate 2' by rotary shaft 3'. The light emitted from this light emitting element 1'a is irradiated to photoelectric element arraying substrate 4' where plural photoelectric elements are arranged on the circumference, and outputs of photoelectric elements are converted to a Gray code as the position signal and are ouput. If a hole is provided in the position of slit 2'a of slit plate 2' and a convex lens is fitted to this hole, resolution is improved furthermore.
