Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct typesetting in a short time without leaving any margin within a recording space in an optional shape by making simulation calculation based on informations on the recording space, characters, line intervals and others and by adjusting the arrangement through alteration of the magnification of an optical system.

CONSTITUTION: When characters (aWn) are arranged and stored within a trapezoidal recording space, for instance, first a character board 3 is set and a pattern information is inputted in an operation device 13, while the signal 12a of an A/D converter 12 is memorized in a memory 15. Next, the character board 3 is replaced by a glass plate whereon the characters are arranged, while the output signal 12a is stored in a memory 14. Moreover, informations on respective character interval, line interval, etc. are stored in memories 16 and 17. And, simulation processing for arranging characters is conducted in an operation part 18 and the coordinates of characters thus obtained are multiplied by K and stored in a memory 19. And, according to a printing instruction 29c, the signal 19a of the memory 19 is multiplied by 1/K to produce a signal 20a. This signal is sent to a controlling circuit 22 and the position of a sensitive material 25 is set, whereby the characters are recorded without any margin.
