Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable plate-making of a 2-mode picture on a same plate by scanning one time, by a method wherein a reproduction mode is automatically switched according to information on a marking sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A plate-making original plate 2, an original 2, and a marking sheet 4 are placed on a rotation drum 1. In the marking sheet 4, a part corresponding to a photosection of the original is all painted with a drawing material beforehand. With a rotation drum rotated, a density of the original and the marking sheet is read out by means of optical means 9 and 10. A signal of the original read out is amplified by an amplifying circuit 25, and is input to a picture signal reproduction mode control circuit 24. In the meantime, an output signal from the marking sheet is fed to a mode selection circuit 22, and is input to the picture reproduction mode control circuit 24 or the mode selection circuit 22. A photosection has an improved half-tone reproduction property, or an erased line drawing section is output and photoengraved so that it becomes a high contrast.
