Abstract
PURPOSE:To redude the required quantity of a liquid fuel supplied for electricity generation, by providing a separator which separates only reaction produced gas from produced gases generated in the battery through heat-exchanging with other fluid and exhausts. CONSTITUTION:A required amount of a fuel such as methanol is fed from a fuel tank 11 containing the liquid fuel through controlling a valve 12 to an anolyte tank 13. Anolyte 6 is fed to each anolyte chamber 4 of the battery body 10 with a pump 14, and circulated to a gas-liquid separator 15 and the anolyte tank 13. When, a part of fuel in the anolyte 6 is consumed in the battery body 10, and a mixture 7 of residual anolyte and generated gasious mixture of carbon dioxide, steam, and fuel vapor generated in the battery body 10 flows form the anolyte chamber 4 to the gas-liquid separator 15. Air 8 is fed to the separator 15 by a blower 16, the generated gas is heat-exchanged with the air, only carbon dioxide is separated as gas, and exhausted from the separator 15 to the atmosphere.
