Argon of 10 Torr is sealed in the luminous tube 4 as a starting gas, and 0.002-0.024mg per 1cm<3> of iron iodide and mercury are sealed in the luminous tube. By specifying the amount of iron iodide, output in the 300-400nm wave length region is increased, and the hardening efficiency of UV printing ink is improved and the lamp can start to light with a stabilizer 1 for high voltage mercury lamps.
