Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high yield stably for a long term, by oxidizing an olefin or aromatic compound and a carboxylic acid with oxygen in the presence of a novel catalyst in which an alkali matal or alkaline earth metal or both are supported on a specific crystalline aluminosilicate.
CONSTITUTION: An olefin or an aromatic compound, e.g. benzene, xylene or naphthalene, and a carboxylic acid, e.g. acetic acid, are catalytically oxidized with O2 in the presence of a catalyst in which at least an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal or both are supported on a crystalline aluminosilicate prepared by mixing a silicon compound with an aluminum compound and an aqueous mixture solution containing alkali metal ions or alkaline earth metal ions, quaternary ammonium ions and at least Pd as a transition metal component under shear, and crystallizing the resultant mixture, at 50W280°C to afford a carboxylic ester.
EFFECT: The catalyst can be prepared relatively simply.
