Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent welding member from discoloring by beforehand wetting the portion around a welding point by alcohol in the case of resistance-welding the welding member to a welding base metal.
CONSTITUTION: A spring material 2 of a Cu-Be alloy contg. 1.8wt% Be is resistance-welded to an Fe-made base material 1 having been Cu-plated. In this case, a drop of alcohol is dropped to the welding portion 3 of the base material 1, after which the spring material 2 is resistance-welded. By the effect of the heat evolved at the welding, the alcohol becomes a reducing gas which prevents the weld zone from oxidizing and the surface of the portion around the weld point from discoloring.
