Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a picture read speed by decreasing the number of terminals by forming stripe electrodes in a matrix or by fixing the electrode width corresponding to (n) picture elements. CONSTITUTION:The width of stripe electrodes 11 is increased corresponding to (n) picture elements to decrease the number of electrode terminals. To read a signal, the surface of transparent glass 1 is scanned by a laser spot in direction (y). As a result, signals of respective picture elements 1, 2, 3, 4... appear at respective terminals (a), (b)... in sequence. Those signals are transferred to operational amplifier array 9, connected to electrode terminals (a), (b)..., and then outputted.
