Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a change in rotary angle photoelectrically and in turn, a signal corresponding to a rotary angle by constituting a device such that a rotary axis and a cylinder for light shielding which rotates with the former are provided inside a casing for light shielding with a light source provided in the center and a slit on the side.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 3 and a disc 2 rotate inside a cylindrical casing 5 in accordance with the rotation of a rotary axis 1. The casing 3 is composed of a triangular plate shaped to have a period of 360°. Therefore, the casing 3 changes the opening of a slit 6 which leads a light from a light source 7 to light-receiving elements 9a1 to 9an aligned in a single line over a range from "zero" to "full open" at a period of 360°. A comparison circuit 10 is equipped with comparators 10a1 to 10an corresponding to the light-receiving elements 9a1 to 9an and outputs a prearranged voltage signal, if a signal is applied from the light-receiving element. Thus a signal VO corresponding to the rotary angle of the rotary axis 1 is output from an addition amplifier 11.
