Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the capacity of drying the materials to be treated by providing means of removing the steam stagnating in the lower part of a drum to the drying part using drum dryers.
CONSTITUTION: While steam is introduced to the inside of drums 1 which are revolving in proximity and the drums are heated in this way, the material 3 to be dried is supplied into the upper part between the drums from a liquid supply pipe 2. The material 3 revolves by sticking on the drums 1 along with the revolution of the drums 1. The dried material 3 is scraped off by scrapers 4 and is carried out by conveyors 6 in the lower part. At this time, the steam evaporated stagnates in the lower half part of the drums and creates a wet area. A blast duct 8 is provided in this wet area, to remove the stagnating steam. Blasting conditions are suitably determined depending upon the materials to be treated. Thereby, the drying capacity is increased by about 20W50%. It is also possible to provide an exhaust duct in place of the blast duct.
