Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the connection efficiency, by providing a taper-shaped photoconductive part narrowing toward the light source side between the light source and the plastic fiber. CONSTITUTION:A part of plastic fiber 1 is heated and stretched to form taper- photoconductive part 7, and this part 7 is set into plug 4 molded with plastic. This part 7 is butted to light source 2 set in socket 5, and they are connected by cap nut 6. By forming the photoactive connector in this manner, the light of a large incident angle is propagated also to improve the connection efficiency in comparison with no taper part. The similar effect is obtained even when taper-shaped photoconductive part 7 is molded with materials of a refractive index different from that of plug 4.
