Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively detect the abnormal vibrations of a mold and detect the abnormality of the mold state by mounting accelerometers for detecting vibrations to the mold outer side end parts of long-side copper plate jackets and detecting the output envelope change amount of the accelerometers. CONSTITUTION:The abnormal vibrations in a mold 1 are detected with accelerometers 5 for detecting mold vibrations mounted to the outer side end of the mold of the long-side copper plate jackets 2 of the mold 1. In order to detect an abnormal vibration component from the detection signal (a) thereof, the 1st envelope change detecting circuit 8 and the 2nd envelope circuit are connected in parallel to the respective accelerometers 5 via an amplifier 5. The circuit 8 takes out the change amount of the envelope curve of the signal (a) from said signal (a) and detect the abnormality of the mold 1. On the other hand, the circuit 9 takes out the change amount of the envelope curve of the signal (a) in the specific frequency band of the signal (a) and detects the abnormality of the mold 1 occurring in the change in the specific casting conditions.
