Abstract
PURPOSE: To inform a user a remained amount of printing paper and to prevent an interruption of a process due to insufficinet amount of the paper by a method wherein the amount of the printing paper being set in a printing device is detected to generate a signal indicating a using condition of the printing paper.
CONSTITUTION: A position of a paper carrying table PP elevated in accordance with an amount of a printing paper P is detected to inform a user the remained amount of the printing paper P by indicating a condition thereof in an operating portion OP. A proper sets of position detecting sensors are provided at predetermined plural positions within an elevating range of the paper carrying table PP, for example. Further, photocouplers 1W3 corresponding to each sensor are provided and amplifiers 5W7 are coupled to them respectively. On the other hand, LED drivers 8W11, flip flops 12, 13 and LEDs (luminous elements) 15W18 for indicating the amount of the paper are provided and each of them are coupled to the photocouplers 1W3. According to this method, respective LED15W18 are flickered sequentially and the remained amount of the printing paper P is indicated.
