Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damage to the thrust bearing of a swash-plate compressor used as automotive air conditioning compressor, by interposing a plane bearing between the boss of cylinder block and the base of swash plate.
CONSTITUTION: The load acting in parallel to the thrust on the swash plate due to the piston reciprocating motion is taken up to the boss portions 8a and 8b of a cylinder block via a plane bearing 13 and a buffer plate 12. The sliding surfaces of the plane bearing 13 and the side of the base 6a are lubricated as lublicating oil collected on the bottom of the compressor is splashed by a swash plate 6. In addition, a coolant stream from a swash plate chamber to a low pressure chamber, which is caused by blow-by gas leaking to the swash plate chamber, through the clearance with attract lublicant oil particles in the swash plate chamber, resulting in more reliable lubication of the sliding surfaces.
