Abstract

PURPOSE: In the regeneration process including calcination and acid rinsing, the active carbon to be regenerated is brought into contact with an alkanolamine to increase the regeneration degree of active carbon and simultaneously to prevent the corrosion in the system of acidic gas absorption process.
CONSTITUTION: Active carbon is regenerated by treatment including following steps: calcination, acid rinsing and alkanolamine rinsing. The rinsing of active carbon with an alkanolamine mainly aims at removing oxides of silicon adsorbed on the active carbon and is effected in the adsorption column at about 30W40°C. As the alkanolamine, is most preferred the fresh one, however, the alkanolamine also may be employed while or after it is used in the process of acidic gas absorption. When the alkanolamine that is being used in the acidic gas absorption process is employed, it is preferred that the active carbon to be activated is placed in the acidic gas absorption process.
