Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently remove the COD in the treated waste water of the gas produced by combustion by allowing the waste water contg. COD components to contact with synthetic adsorbent resins contg. active groups of weak basic type or medium basic type, then allowing the same to contact with synthetic adsorbent resins of strong basic type.
CONSTITUTION: The waste water contg. COD components produced when gases formed by carbonization of coal and petroleium or their combustion is contacted with synthetic adsorbent resins contg. active groups of weak basic type or medium basic type. Thence, it is contacted with synthetic adsorbent resins contg. active groups of strong basic type, whereby the treated water removed of the COD components in the waste water is obtained, after which the synthetic adsorbent resins having adsorbed the COD components are contacted with an alkali agent soln. in order of strong basic type, weak basic type and medium basic type. Further, they are contacted with mineral acid solutions of said resins, whereby the adsorbent resins are regenerated. Those of porous type are suitable as said synthetic adsorbent resins.
