Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the degree of testing accuracy and the safety of a tester simulating a corrosive atmosphere by forming the test chamber into a closed double structure as well as providing a circulating circuit for the simulated atmosphere gas solution.
CONSTITUTION: A test chamber 3 is formed into a closed double structure comprising an outer chamber 31 and an inner chamber 32 and provided with a circulating circuit comprising a duct which connects a hydrogen sulfide gas cylinder 5 and a solution tank 1 through a valve 9, a duct which connects the bottom of the solution tank 1 and the bottom of the inner chamber 32 through a circulating pump 10 and a three-way cock 11, and a duct which connects the upper part of the inner chamber 32 and the upper part of the side wall of the solution tank 1. In testing, hydrogen sulfide is introduced from the hydrogen sulfide gas cylinder 5 into the solution tank 1, where a reference liquid is saturated with the hydrogen sulfide to prepare a solution, which is made to circulate through the circulating circuit by the circulating pump 10 in order to test a test piece of a material in the inner chamber 32. Said constitution can prevent the air from being drawn into the test chamber 3 during test. Accordingly, the fall of pH and consequently the change of the characteristics of the solution can be prevented. In addition, the solution is prevented from leaking from the test chamber 3.
