Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately join two kinds of iron sintered metals by interposing another iron sintered metal in one sintered metal hole and brazing these in joining the end faces of said sintered metals.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of joining iron sintered metals A, B, a hole 1 is opened in the central part of the metal A, and another iron sintered metal C is inserted into this hole 1, thence a clearance 2 is provided between the metal A and the same. A braze material 3 is placed on this clearance 2. In this state the entire part is heated to temp. above the m.p. of the braze material. The braze material 3 on the clearance 2 melts, passes the clearance 2 between the metals A and C, and sufficiently percorates to the fayed face 4 of the metals A and B and the fayed face 5 of the metals B and C. Thereby, the metals A, B, C are thoroughly joined to each other. This enables a larger amount of the braze material to be used if necessary, makes sufficient braze material usable without any restriction in product shape and enables the sure joining to be accomplished.
