Abstract
PURPOSE: An insulating sheet to cover farm products and to promote their growth, obtained by forming a linear material of a thermoplastic resin blended with metallic powder and specific inorganic powder into an air-permeable sheet with a visible light transmission not less than a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: Preferably 0.05W0.3wt% finely divided metallic powder, e.g., aluminum, having particle diameters preferably not more than 5μ and preferably 2W3wt% inorganic powder (preferably silicon oxide, aluminate, etc. having particle diameters not more than 5μ) absorbing infrared rays with wave length 5W50μ are added to a thermoplastic synthetic resin (preferably crystalline resin, e.g., high- density polyethylene, etc.). The blend, for example, extruded into a film, slited into a narrow width, and stretched to form a linear material, which is weaved to form a sheet having a visible light transmission not less than 80%, to give the desired insulating film for agriculture.
