Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer having a high stereoregularity, a narrow particle size distribution thereof and a high bulk density, by using (A) a solid which is prepared by treating a metallic oxide with a halogenating agent and supports halides of Mg and Ti and an electron donor and (B) an organoaluminum compound as a catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: An olefin, e.g. propylene, is poymerized in the presence of a polymerization catalyst consisting of (A) a solid catalyst component in which (ii) a magnesium halide, titanium halide and an electron donative organic compound, e.g. ethyl benzoate, are supported on (i) a carrier prepared by treating silica, alumina, magnesia or titania treated with a halogenating agent, e.g. phosphorus pentachloride, or a metallic oxide containing compound oxides thereof with a magnesium halide and (B) an organoaluminum compound, e.g. triethylaluminum, to give the aimed polymer.
