Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the steering control operation corresponding to a state of waves and wind, by automatically selecting dead band width of the operation of an amplifier for amplifying the output corresponding to a deviation angle between a desired course of the detector of an automatic steering gear and the present course.
CONSTITUTION: A desired course is set by a course setting knob 3 of a controller 2 on the upper face of a bowl of a magnetic compass 1. If a course direction is deviated by waves or the like when a sailing course is decided by a rudder 8, a signal corresponding to its deviation angle is taken out from a detector 4 and applied to a bridge circuit 5 and automatic sensitivity control circuit 11. Accordingly the signal is fed from the detector 4 to the bridge circuit 5, and the amplifier 6 is operated only when a difference signal compared with a potentiometer 9 is extremely high.
