Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of black stripes and white stripes due to the distortion resulted by the air resistance or deflections by offsetting them by a charge distortion, by a method wherein, in a charge deflection system drum scanning type ink jet recorder, directions of deflection of ink drop and a rotation of a drum are aligned. CONSTITUTION:Ink drops jetted from an ink jet head 1 are charged by means of a charge electrode 3, and is then deflected by means of a deflection electrode 4 according to a charge amount for reaching a recording sheet 10 on a rotary drum 6. In this case, distances lambda1-lambda3 between ink drops becomes lambda1<lambda2<lambda3 due to the distortion resulted by the air resistance and deflection. Simultaneously, the ink drops are subjected to the charge distortion due to static induction of preceding drops, and flight traces become X1>...>X4. The rotary drum 6, whose shaft is set perpendicularly to the deflection directions of the ink drops, is rotated in the maximum deflection direction of the ink drops, that is, a direction D, thereby the drop distances lambda1-lambda2 and changes in the flight traces X1-X4 are offset.
