Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the mean residence time of powder raw material and improve the rates of decarboxylation and improve the quantity of heat transfer by interposing a means of capturing part of the powder raw material between a calcining furnace and a dust collector, and returning the captured powder raw material into the calcining furnace. CONSTITUTION:Powder raw material is introduced into a duct 4, is heat exchanged by being blown up by the hot gas from below, is captured in a cyclone 5, falls down to the lower stage, and reaches a duct 6, a cyclone 7, a duct 8 and a cyclone 9, where it is preheated, and the limestone in the raw material is decarboxylated. The powder raw material from the cyclone 9 is led via a chute 10 to a calcining furnace 1 provided with a burner 11, where it is nearly perfectly decarboxylated. The calcined powder raw material is sent together with the hot gas to a cyclone 13 via a duct 12, thence it is fed into a rotary kiln 3, where it is calcined, after which it is cooled to cement clinker in a clinker cooler 16.
