Abstract

PURPOSE:A lubricant which is specified of the kinds of compounding components and their componding ratios, which does not cause the problem of entry of hydrogen, and hindrances to current supply characteristic and weld metal, and which considerably enhances feed characteristic and also provide excellent effect in drawing. CONSTITUTION:This lubricant consists in suspending 0.1-10pts.wt. a fluorine-base low polymn. degree compound of 2,500-10,000mol.wt., and 0.1-20pts.wt. graphite and/or MoS2 in a volatile solvent such as trichloroethylene. With the mol.wt. below said range, satisfactory drawability and feed characteristic are not obtainable, and above said range, dispersibility is poor and the lubricant cannot stick uniformly on wire surface. The graphite and MoS2 to be used in combination are fine powder of <=3mu grain size to obtain a stable suspension. In the case of the one for coating, it <=1mu is desirable in consideration for the effect on current supply characteristic and deposited metal. If the weight ratios of the components are set at the above-described ratios, they stick at the former/the latter =0.5-99, and if pickup is made adequate, sufficient lubricity is obtained.
