Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the high speed operation of the semiconductor pellet mounter by a method wherein a reflecting type optical detector consisting of optical fibers is made to be built-in in the nozzle of the semiconductor pellet mounter absorbing the semiconductor pellet to mount it at the prescribed position of a lead frame. CONSTITUTION:The optical detector 26 consisting of scores of the bundled optical fibers 25, the optical detector 28 consisting of the same optical fiber group 27 and absorbing parts 30 being connected to airing holes 29 are arranged respectively at the prescribed position inside of the main body 22 of the nozzle 21 being equipped at the tip of transferring arm of the semiconductor pellet mounter. The half numbers of the optical fibers 25, 27 per respective detectors 26, 28 are used as light projectors and the remained half numbers are used as light receivers to detect the reflected light, and the reflectivity is measured to send out the command of transference, absorption, etc. By this way, because the existence of the pellet, the existence of an ink mark on the pellet for the decision of the inferiority can be judged precisely and speedily, so that the mounting work can be performed speedily and precisely.
