Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the effective value of input signal highly accurately with simple circuits by switching the input signal at a prescribed time and integrating the same.
CONSTITUTION: The input signal is applied to a pulse width moldulating circuit 1 and a switch circuit 2. The circuit 1 obtains the output pulse of the duty ratio proportional to the value dividing the input signal by the output signal of an integrating circuit 3 and applies this as a control signal to the switch circuit 2. While the control signal is of a high level, the input signal is straightly supplied to the integrating circuit 3, and while it is of a low level, the negative signal of the input signal is applied to the circuit 3. The circuit 3 integrates these input signals, averages these and produces an output. As a result, the output signal is of the value proportional to the effective value of the input signal.
