Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve an electrospark machining device in machining tolerances by detecting variations of frequency, amplitude and vibration input when the electrode is vibrated to machine, in order to discriminate the electrode consumption and correct the consumption. CONSTITUTION:A high-frequency power source 6 supplies a vibrator 2 with vibrational energy, while a working power source 7 supplies working pulses to the gap between an electrode 1 and a workpiece 5. In the spark gap between the electrode 1 and the workpiece 5, the electrode vibration or frequency, vibration input and the like maintain fixed set values unless the gap length, gap condition or the like changes. Therefore, there is no variation in the vibrating conditions. However, when the electrode is consumed, variations occur in the vibration. Said frequency variation is detected in a detecting circuit 16, whose signal is discriminated in a discriminating circuit 17 to decide the electrode consumption. When there is a change of the order of + or -4-5kHz in the ordinary frequency, a signal based on said decision in added to a control circuit 19 to provide a correction feed. Thus, machining tolerances can be improved.
