Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit a gear to be machined with higher accuracy as well as a compact hobbing machine to be formed at a lower cost by accurately synchronizing the rotations of the hob spindle and a work purely electrically without using coupling gears. CONSTITUTION:The control unit 1a of a numerical controller NC outputs velocity command numerals VNw and VNh corresponding to the revolution speed of a work WK and a hob spindle HB. Servo-systems SVH and SVW for driving the hob spindle and the work have position deviation generating units 2a and 3a, velocity deviation generating units 2b and 3b, velocity detectors 2c and 3c and position detectors 2d and 3d, and form velocity feedback loops VF and VF' and position feedback loops PF and PF' respectively. In addition, the rotations of driving motors MH and MW for the hob spindle HB and the work WK can be accurately synchronized without using coupling gears. Said constitution permits a gear to be machined with higher accuracy as well as a compact hobbing machine to be formed at a lower cost.
