Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the production of grain-fined austenite steel of uniform crystal grain sizes by heating the austenite steel to high temperatures then plastically working the same at recrystallization temp. or under and further solutionizing the same in producing the austenite steel.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe blank material 2 made of SUS 316L is heated for 10hr at 1,250°C, and is formed, after which stresses that become driving power necessary for grain fining are accumulated, thence the pipe blank material is cold-worked at reduction ratios of 10%W20% by upper, lower push dies 1, 1 at temperatures below the recrystallization temp. Next, it is heated for 1hr at 1,040°C, after which it is water-cooled and is solutionized, whereby the crystal grain sizes are refined and the austenite steel material of superior mechanical properties, integranular corrosion resistance and ultrasonic flaw detection performance is produced.
