Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A glucopyranose-nitrosourea derivative of formula I or II (R1 is alkyl having 4W9C side chain, 6W9C cyclohexyl, mono- or trimethylcyclohexyl, 7W8C benzyl, etc.).
EXAMPLE: 3-(iso-Butyl α-D-glucopyranos-6-yl)-1-(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea.
USE: A carcinostatic agent having a greater carcinostatic activity and lower toxicity than the well-known similar compounds.
PROCESS: An aminoglucopyranose compound of formula III or IV (R2 is amino or acid addition salt thereof) is reacted with a compound of formula V (R3 is nitro or cyano) to give the compound of formula I or X.
