Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance control precision in a drum type or reciprocating type copying machine by providing a rotary body with means for generating pulses regularly, and forming a series of timing signals. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape with pulse signals recorded each at equal intervals or a tape painted black and white alternately at equal intervals is applied in a ring form to the inside circumference or the side of a rotary body for driving a photoreceptor, such as photosensitive drum 4. This is detected with detectors 15 (16, 17), amplified and shaped to form timing pulses and provided to control signal forming circuit 21. This circuit 21 combines the timing signals to form various kinds of control signals, thus permitting control of each unit of the copier to be carried out in a timing accorded with rotation of drum 4, therefore, control accuracy to be enhanced.
