Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the fixing sensitivity of a recording member and raise the density of an image by making combined use of a cobalt ammine complex and a hygroscopic agent. CONSTITUTION:Zeolite mineral or its analogue is used as a hygroscopic agent together with a cobalt (III) ammine complex. On a support a photosensitive heat- sensitive layer is formed contg. the two kinds of compounds, an acidic salt of oxidizable leucoaminotriarylmethane and a strong acid, hexaarylbiimidazole which mainly absorbs light of wavelengths in the ultraviolet region to allow the leucoaminotriarylmethane to color by photooxidation, and a redox couple composed of quinone absorbing light in the 400-550nm region as an oxidizing agent component and a hydrogen donor having active hydrogen as a reducing agent component. NH3 and amine generated from the complex by heating react with water in the hygroscopic agent, forming NH4OH and fixing the dye effectively, so that fixing sensitivity of the resulting recording member is enhanced.
