Abstract

PURPOSE: Titled composition which provides cured products having excellent weather resistance, water resistance and surface curability, and which is useful as an adhesive, comprising a polyene and a specified polythiol.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyene represented by formula I, wherein R is H, Cl, F, a (substituted) alkyl or a (substituted) alkoxyl and n is 0W10, such as diallyl maleate is mixed with (B) a polythiol, average MW80W150,000, represented by formula II, wherein Z is an organic residue having m functional groups and m is an integer equal to or greater than 2, such as triethylene glycol dimercaptan so as to provide a mixing ratio of 1:49W49:1.
EFFECT: This composition is cured by irradiating with actinic rays, and forms a polythiol having excellent weather resistance. Because of low variation in ultraviolet spectral transmittance, this composition is most suited for bonding optical glass such as lenses.
