Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an excellent light reflective coating without carrying out a polishing work by a method wherein a thermosetting powder paint containing a predetermined amount of a specific Si compound is coated on a metal surface to be painted, baked and cured thereon and a specific melamine solvent type paint or the like is painted and baked thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The thermosetting powder paint such as an acrylic powder paint or the like containing 0.05W3wt% of a phenyl modified methylsilicon oil is coated on a metal surface to be painted directly or after plating treatment and/or formation treatment are applied thereon and, after baking and curing, an acrylic melamine solvent type paint or a melamine alkyd solvent type paint is coated and baked thereon and, moreover, a metal coating such as Al or the like is formed thereon by a vapor depositing method or the like. Thereby, the polishing work requiring much labor and skill which is a problem of a conventional technique is eliminated and the excellent light reflective coating suitable for a head lump of an automobile is formed.
