Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a track-switching digital magnetic recorder which facilitates an easy control of the tape travelling direction, by recording the data continuously through the fixed switching of tracks by means of a magnetic tape having plural tracks.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic tape 7 has four tracks T1WT4, and the magnetic head 16 is formed by combining the record and reproduction heads in correspondence to the four tracks. The signal of tape travelling direction and the track signal are supplied to the logic circuit 70. The forward signal and the reverse signal are produced with the tape normal sending signal and the odd track signal and the tape normal sending signal and the even track signal respectively. And vice versa when the reverse sending signal is supplied. As a result, the tape travelling direction is reversed automatically by the fixed circuit to ensure the desired recording although the normal sensing signal is supplied when both the forward and reverse recording are carried out on tracks T1, T3 and T2, T4 respectively. Accordingly, system of the control signal of the CPU or the like can be made identical to that of a single recoring to secure an easy application.
