Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the high-speed and high-quality duplication of the tape by setting the tape feed speed to α-times as high as the standard system and then securing the simultaneous reproduction of the video signals through α-pieces of the adjacent tracks.
CONSTITUTION: Feed speed vt' of tape 1 is set to α-times as high as feed speed vt of the standard system, and at the same time the number of units is set for video head 4 to α-times as much as those of the standard system. Heads 4 are distributed on the circumference of disc 3 with the fixed angle pitch, and the winding angle of tape 1 is set so that the adjacent heads can deliver the reproduction signals through video tracks of the same number as the heads and at one time. Accordingly, these video signals reproduced at one time are recorded to other video tapes by means of the recorder same as that used for reproduction, and thus the tape duplication becomes possible in the speed of α-times as high as the standard system.
