Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the function of separating the DC component and AC component of signals in a processing system of light signals alone by providing a circuit which converts only the AC component of input light to an electric signal to the one output end of a photoswitch which has one input end and two output ends. CONSTITUTION:When the light signal consisting of DC component iDC and AC component iAC inputs to the input end 4 of a photoswitch 3, this light signal goes via an optical guide 6 to a circuit 9, where only the AC component is electrically amplified and is applied to the switch 3. In case the phase of the light signal and the phase of the output from the circuit 9 are the same, the DC component of the light signal is branched to the optical guide 6, and the AC component is branched to an optical guide 8. Part of the DC component is outputted through an optical guide 7. In case the phase of the light signal and the phase of the output from the circuit 9 is opposite, the phases of the light signal propagating in the optical guides 6 and 8 are inverted 180 deg..
