Abstract

PURPOSE: To make accuracy and temp. characteristics good by using a semiconductor photodetector and digitally logarithmically converting the output thereof by making use of its short-circuited current.
CONSTITUTION: The output current of a photodetector 1 proportional to the quantity of the light measured is inputted to an operational amplifier 2, by which it is converted to voltage and this voltage is outputted therefrom. A circuit connected with analog switches 4aW4d respectively to feedback resistances 3aW3d is connected in parallel to the amplifier 2, and an arbitrary one of the resistances 3a...and the amplifier 2 are connected in parallel. The output voltage of the amplifier 2 is inputted to an A/D converter 5, and the output digitally converted there is inputted to an arithmetic processing circuit 6, where it is logarithmically converted by a suitable approximate expression and is displayed in a display device 7.
