Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the degree of measuring accuracy of a measuring apparatus for the moisture permeability of high-molecular packaging materials by keeping the relative humidity of the water vapour permeating the material being measured constant independently of the temperature change so that the effect of the relative humidity change on the measured value can be ignored. CONSTITUTION:The aqueous solution saturated with salt in a container 1 evaporates to become water vapour, which permeates through a sample film 11 being measured, entering a sealed chamber 30 to join the flow of dried air. The discharge of the aqueous solution causes the whole weight of the container 1 containing the aqueous solution to vary in the decreasing direction. Therefore, by tracing the weight change permits the moisture permeability of the sample film 11 to be measured is permitted.
