Abstract

PURPOSE: A hot-melt adhesive having improved adhesiveness to metal, rubber sheet, fibrous materials, etc. and water resistance, obtained by blending an epoxidized polybutadiene with a specific amount of a specificed modified silane.
CONSTITUTION: The desired adhesive obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. epoxidized polybutadiene (anepoxy number preferably 0.1W0.5, having a melting point 60W140°C, slightly to be gelatinized by heating) with (B) 0.05W7pts.wt. silane (e.g., γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, etc.) shown by the formula RSiY3 (R is a hydrocarbon having amino, epoxy, or mercaptan; Y is alkoxyl). The component A is obtained by adding a lower fatty acid (preferably formic acid and hydrogen peroxide) to a solution of a crystalline 1,2-polybutadiene (e.g., syndiotactic-1,2- polybutadiene) in an inert organic solvent to give a mixture solution, which is blended with stirring.
