Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a small size and small diameter mast body by a method wherein an elevator is provided by a suitable means in a sail of a submerged structure and a mast can be lifted independently of this elevator.
CONSTITUTION: Masts 7a,7b,7c having sensors which collect various information on the sea are provided in an elevator 12 moving up and down along a metal supporter 11 equipped in a sail 8. The masts 7aW7c can be lifted by a suitable elevating mechanism up to specified heights and flexible, multicore cables are connected with the masts 7aW7c. In order to lift the mast 7a or 7b onto the sea surface 6, if power is supplied simultaneously or independently to the elevator 12 and the lifting mechanism of the masts 7a, 7b, they can be lifted simultaneously or independently. Hence, the masts can be shortened and the equipment of the structure is simplified so much.
