Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a moving mechanism for connection rails in an automatic cop changer of a spinning machine by use of a pinion-and-rack mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: In the automatic cop changer, a moving mechanism for connection rails 4 comprises a sliding member 17 which reciprocates while being guided by a guide member 16 screwed to a screw shaft 18; a pinion 22 rotatably supported on the sliding member 17 by a shaft 23; and fixed and movable racks 24 and 25 which engage the pinion 23 and are fixed to the guide member 16 and the connection rails 4 respectively. Accordingly, the moving distance span of the movable rack 25 is equal to the sum of the moving distance span L of the sliding member 17 moved by the screw shaft 18 and the distance L through which it is moved by the rotation of the pinion 22. Therefore, the moving stroke of the connection rails 4 and can be elongated. Reversely, in the case of the same stroke of the rails 4, the size of the moving device for the connection rails 4 can be reduced by shortening the screw shaft 18.
