Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent damages of a switching contact for an exciting circuit at forward-backward switching by a method wherein there are provided the first semiconductor element controlled by an output of a backward switch and the second semiconductor element controlled by an output of forward switch. CONSTITUTION:A connection relation between a shunt field system 28 and power source 1 of a DC electric motor for electromobile is changed over by operations of a relay switch responding to both forward switch 3 and backward switch 4, and when a transistor 26 connected in series to the shunt field system 28 is controlled using a neutral detecting cricuit 30, a transistor 42 controlled by the backward switch 4 is connected to the forward switch 3 and a transistor 43 controlled by the forward switch 3 to the backward switch 4. Therefore, even if the forward-backward switching operations are performed in the state that the switches 3, 4 are contact-deposited, no spark is given off at the contacts of exciting switches 16-18 due to off-operations of the transistors 42, 43 to enable the reliability to be elevated.
