Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform excellent short-distance flash photography without entailing over-exposure by providing a small-capacity short-distance capacitor and short- distance flash discharge tube successively.
CONSTITUTION: With stroboscopic switch 7 closed, general, short-distance and commutating capacitors 9, 10 and 26 are charged through boosting circuit 8. When X contact 14 is closed responding to the shutter, trigger circuit 11 triggers thyristor 13 for light emission and short-distance flash discharge tube 12 flashes. On the end of this flashing, counter electromotive force is generated across stabilizing coil 15 and general flash discharge tube 19 flashes through boosting transformer 30 and thyristor 19. In short-distance photography, dimming circuit 24 generates a flash stop signal to turn on stopping thyristor 23 and capacitor 26 is discharged to turn off thyristor 19, so that discharge tube 19 will not flash. This constitution provides excellent short-distance photography without causing over-exposure.
