Abstract
PURPOSE: To unnecessitate sealing and miniaturize the device by a method wherein a rotor provided with a fan is rotatably supported in a tubular body and is driven to rotate by a revolving magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: The rotor 42 is rotatably supported at the outside peripheral surface thereof by supporting mechanism 44, 44' provided in the tubular body 41 and a stator 45 for generating the revolving magnetic field is provided on the outside of the tubular body 41 correspondingly to the position of the rotor 41. The rotor 42 and the stator 45 are coupled only magnetically and are perfectly independent mechanically with each other, therefore, no mechanical connection exists between the rotor 42 and the exterior of the body 41. When the stator 45 is energized to generate the revolving field, the rotor 42 is rotated by the principle of an induction motor because it is a conductor.
